30 Before 30 - EDIT

Over the course of a year, many things can change. You can lose old friends and gain new ones, discover hidden talents, explore new places and big plans you had can turn into daydreams with the single rejection of your annual leave application.

The number 30 on my 30 before 30 list was to visit The Louvre on my birthday. When I was informed that I was unable to take the time off I would like to explore Europe, I decided to come up with a Plan B. I decided to edit number 30 to be 'Celebrate my birthday in a country I have never been before.' It's my list. I can rewrite if I want.

I then spent the next few weeks trying to decide where to go. Oh what a horrible situation. To try and think of somewhere amazing to spend your birthday. After a few discussions with my partner J, we decided New Zealand would be perfect. It looks absolutely beautiful, it's somewhere we have both wanted to visit, I'm in love with it and I've never been and it's only a 3hr flight, so no hideous jetlag to deal with. So I booked flights.

Now comes the fun part - the planning! I'm insanely busy with work until the end of August and we leave mid September, so that gives me 2-3 weeks to actually plan. This is not how I normally do things. So... any suggestions of where to go, what to see, where to shop?! Drop them in the comments and help me plan!

There is one thing we have to see - The New Zealand Dark Sky Reserve. You're absolutely beautiful. I can't wait to meet you. x
