A few weeks ago, I spoke at my first workshop along with a few of the wedding industry's finest. I was a ball of nerves before I spoke, but having a room full of super fun and excited women made it so easy! We were also lucky enough to be in the sun drenched Brisbane venue, High Church. Surrounded by beautiful blooms from Stem Design and stunning furniture by Lovestruck, the other 5 speakers and I did our thing.
Jess Jackson was up first, speaking to everyone about the importance of picking the right photographer. She's talented, smart and frickin adorable!
She's a hard act to follow and I was up next!
I spoke to a room full of both future brides and industry people about the importance of your event stationery. It must speak to both of your personal styles and the style of your wedding and give your guests a little preview of what your day will be. I also spoke about timelines for sending out your stationery and approximate costs for printing. I also had a stall of my work, which showed some new work not yet released and had some little Field Guides I designed for all of the guests! Which gave them the stationery timeline rundown on paper and a little treat when placing your order through September :)
We then had a little break for some amazing food by Pop Taco. So yum! After some chit chat and little pockets of Mexican inspired delicious, it was back to it!
The lovely Sierra from The Babushka Ballerina was up next to talk to our brides about finding your style of dress for their big day. So many different styles, so many beautiful designs!
Georga from Avia Beauty followed up with tips on how to look after your skin in the lead up to your wedding and different makeup styles for different brides. The skin and beauty tips were priceless! This girl is amazing!
Then it was Erin from Hope & Lace. The lady also behind The Lovers Collective. She gave an abridged version of all the crazy things to think about when planning a wedding and why a wedding planner is invaluable on your big day. Only when you start planning your wedding do you realise how much is involved! She also gave some tips on how to save some money in the process!
We then had a little break to enjoy the delicious treats from Hansel & Gretal Cakes! I've had her amazing creations at a few events now and they NEVER disappoint. She's crazy good! A few boxes of her macaroons are on my wish list.
We then moved on to my favourite part of the day - making flower crowns with Stem Design! I thought I would be completely hopeless but everyone picked it up so quickly - even me! Everyone left with the most beautiful crowns and we even got to snap a few selfies.
